Faith is acting upon what is true: God can be trusted when you face the unknown because of who He is and He makes good on His promises. Ask God to help you choose to trust Him into the unknown today. 

Hebrews 11:1 “Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see.”

We often fear what God might ask us to do. But there’s no need to fear what’s ahead because He is with you wherever you go. Thank God that He is with you right now. 

Joshua 1:9 “This is my command – be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

God promised to guide and direct your life through His Word. Ask God to help you listen more to His voice through the Bible.

Psalms 119:105 “Your word is a lamp to guide my feed and a light for my path.”

God will lead you step-by-step as you trust Him and seek direction. Ask God to help you trust Him as you seek His will and be confident that He will lead your steps. 

Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take.”

Commit to the Lord today that you will take whatever steps of faith He leads you towards as you seek Him. Ask the Lord what step of faith He’s calling you to take today. 

Matthew 14:28-29 “Then Peter called to Him, “Lord, if it’s really you, tell me to come to you, walking on the water.” “Yes, come,” Jesus said. So Peter went over the side of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus.”

Make a choice today how you will respond to God’s truth. Ask God how you can choose to serve the Lord in those areas of your life where you feel stuck right now. 

Joshua 24:15 “But if you refuse to serve the Lord, then choose today whom you will serve. Would you prefer the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates? Or will it be the gods of the Amorites in whose land you now live? But as for me and my family, we will serve the Lord.

Be diligent to depend upon the power of the Holy Spirit each day. Ask God to give you the “want to” and the action to respond to His Word in faith.

Philippians 2:12-13 “Dear friends, you always followed my instructions when I was with you. And now that I am away, is is even more important. Work hard to show the results of your salvation, obeying God with deep reverence and fear. For God is working in you, giving you the desire and power to do what pleases Him.

Off your whole life to God as an act of living worship. Ask God to help you see where you need to grow in allowing God’s Word to shape every part of your life. 

Romans 12:1 ” And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all He has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice – the kind He will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship Him.”

Choose to trust God when you face difficulty and struggle in your life. Thank God that He’s at work to build endurance into your life even when you face trials and hardship. 

James 1:3-4 “For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.”

Complete dependence upon Jesus is how you are designed to live. Ask God to reveal those places in your life where you are trying to handle things on your own and operate outside His power and strength.

John 15:5 “Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing.”

The goal of spiritual breakthrough is a clean heart. Face any sin you’ve stockpiled and confess it to the Lord. After you’ve confessed your sin, stand confidently in the forgiveness you’ve been given!

1 John 1:9 “But if we confess our sins to Him, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.”

If you choose to compartmentalize sin (hide, rationalize or ignore it), then you are choosing to compromise your faith and you cannot experience the power of God that’s available to you. Admit to the Lord anything in your life that you’re compartmentalizing right now, and find peace. 

Psalms 32:3-4 “When I refuse to confess my sin, my body wasted away, and I groaned all day long. Day and night your hand of discipline was heavy on me. My strength evaporated like water in the summer heat.”

Make a deliberate choice to turn away from those things that are evil. Ask God to give you the strength, desire and discipline to keep your eye on Christ. 

2 Timothy 2:19 & 21 ” But God’s truth stands firm like a foundation stone with this inscription: “The Lord knows those who are his,” and “All who belong to the Lord must turn away from evil.” If you keep yourself pure, you will be a special utensil for honorable use. Your life will be clean, and you will be ready for the Master to use you for every good work.”

The temptations and allure of the world constantly calls for our attention, and no one is immune to this influence creeping into their life. Ask God to show you if the love of the world has crept into your life, and ask Him to help you turn back to Him in faith.

1 John 2:15-16 “Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you. For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world.”

Your life is designed to share Jesus Christ to the world around you in both what you say and do. Ask God to help you live with this filter for all things in life, representing Jesus Christ and giving thanks. 

Colossians 3:17 “And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks though Him to God the Father.”

Your own faith is the single most important factor that influences the next generation. Start with your own hear and life, asking God to help you trust Him enough to live out this verse.

Matthew 6:33 “Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and He will give you everything you need.”

Without intentionality form those who already believe in Jesus Christ, the faith of the next generation fades away quickly. Ask God to help you be intentional to pass the baton of faith to someone younger than you.

Judges 2:10 “After that generation died, another generation grew up who did not acknowledge the Lord or remember the mighty things He had done for Israel.”

Parents have the greatest responsibility to cultivate the spiritual lives of their children. If you’re a parent, recognize it’s what you do each day that shapes the faith of your kids. If you’re not a parent, pray these words for the parents in our faith community.

Deuteronomy 6:5-7 “And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength. And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up.”

Never underestimate the power of a faithful parent, grandparent, or influence in the life of the next generation. Ask God to help you influence the next generation like Timothy’s family did. 

2 Timothy 1:5 “I remember your genuine faith, for you share the faith that first filled your grandmother Lois and your mother, Eunice. And I know that same faith continues strong in you.”

Each generation has the responsibility to tell the next of God’s faithfulness and lead them to faith in Christ so they, in turn, can help the next generation. Ask God how you can be faithful to day with this responsibility.

Psalms 145:4 “Let each generation tell its children of your might acts; let them proclaim your power.”

This is the influence God wants to have through your life. Commit your life to wholeheartedly serving the Lord in your lifetime, and passing the baton of faith to those who come after you. 

Joshua 24:31 “The people of Israel served the Lord through the lifetime of Joshua and of the elders who outlived him – those who had personally experienced all that the Lord had done for Israel.”
