August 11, 2020

We hope that you have heard the exciting news that the Pastor Search Team shared with us this past Sunday. They are confident that the Lord has led them to this candidate and they will be bringing him to Bayside in view of a call the weekend of August 21-23, 2020. Early next week, we will mail out some biographical information which will introduce you to the candidate and allow you to begin specifically praying for him and how the Lord will lead you to vote for our next Pastor. (Please note, this biographical information will not be shared online out of respect for the candidate and his current church).

Gathering to Vote:

A Special Called Business Meeting will be held at the conclusion of both the 8:30 AM and 10:30 AM Worship service on Sunday, August 23, for the purpose of voting to extend a call to a Senior Pastor.

  • Voting ballots will be distributed in a blank envelope. Church members will be instructed to complete the ballot, seal the envelope, and then write their name on the outside of the envelope.
  • Envelopes will be placed in collection boxes as people are dismissed from the Sanctuary.
  • Church Members who will not be present in the service will be able to come to the drive thru between 12:30-2:30 pm where they will be given a ballot in an envelope, have the opportunity to complete it and place it in a collection box. (Members will not be required to leave their car).
  • Names on each envelope will be verified for church membership by a staff member, ballots will then be removed from the envelope and then counted by a group of church members who will be selected by Todd Richardson, Chairman of Deacons, who will preside over the meeting.
  • The PST will share the results with the candidate and the Staff will share the results on the church website and social media accounts.

All gatherings will take place in the Sanctuary. We ask that you plan to enter through the front doors, stop to have your temperature taken, and that you would consider wearing a mask in common areas.

We look forward to this special time with our church family and hope that you will make every effort to come and meet the prospective pastor as well as joining us for worship on Sunday, August 23.
